Review Policy
These posting guidelines are subject to change without notice at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to remove reviews or other content and deactivate member accounts without refund in breach of these terms or if we feel that a review is attempting to breach these terms. The following cover leaving a review and responding to a review.
Definitions of ‘Us’ – this includes our website, company, members of staff, directors, partners and 3rd parties that we use.
Basic Do’s and Do nots Summary
- Be detailed and objective
- Write clearly using correct grammar and spelling and avoid slang
- Don't abuse, attack or threaten any company or individual
- Don't post identifiable details such as names, or email addresses
- Don't swear
- Don’t use all capital letters
Irrelevant content
Be detailed about your experience. In some cases, we may not accept reviews if we believe the main feature(s) of the service or product haven't been used. Comments should be related to the review you are posting under.
Overly positive or promotional reviews
Don't post reviews with overly positive writing styles which can be deemed to be marketing or promotional material. It is at our discretion on what is considered to breach this topic.
Personal or corporate attacks
Don't post attacks, threats or insults directed at other people or organisations. There is also no need to respond to personal attacks in a similar manner as your account may be removed too. Report the content or the member using the contact us form.
Personal retaliations against staff or organisations
Don't post personal retaliations against staff or organisations. If your listing has been affected by a personal vendetta you should report this through the contact us form
Intolerance and vilification
Don't post content that contains intolerance or vilification of other people's political views, race, culture, beliefs, physical or mental conditions, gender, religion, age, sex, background etc.
Swearing
Don't swear. This includes if the swear word is an acronym, an alternative word or rhyming word, a deliberate attempt to circumvent a direct swearword or the word is somehow misspelt, but the meaning is evident. Words like "terrible", “rubbish/garbage”, "damn" or similar are not considered swear words, but we do encourage professional language.
Advertising
Don't post advertising in your reviews, comments, etc. This includes viral advertising, links, websites, promotions, etc. Product or service recommendations are acceptable depending on the context.
We have the final say in ambiguous cases.
External links
Don't post external links that are irrelevant or lead to unsafe/offensive websites or breach any other condition listed here.
Affiliation to the listing
Don't leave a review if you are currently affiliated with or were previously affiliated with it in the past. This includes past or present employees, family and friends of employees.
Pointless postings
Do not create multiple reviews that add no value or breach other guidelines. We reserve the right to remove your content in bulk and ban your account. You can leave multiple reviews if they are for different services or products or over different time periods and are not duplicated (i.e. for the same product or service)
Multiple accounts
Don't create multiple accounts purely for leaving different reviews
Review verification and requests for additional information
If there is a dispute or reason to believe possible breach of a rule, we may request confirm if a reviewer has used the product or service they are reviewing. As part of these efforts, additional information may be requested. This information will be kept confidential.
Removal Requests
We consider reasoned and polite requests regarding content removal. If you believe a review or other content should be removed for breaching these guidelines, infringing or violating someone’s rights or otherwise violating the law, you should report this using the contact us form. Although we won't be able to reply to every request and may not action your request we will investigate every one of them.
Threatening requests
We take a zero-tolerance approach to threatening requests sent to us and reserve the right to take any or all the following actions:
- Removing your ability to reply or review
- Removing your access from the site without refund (if applicable)
- Blocking future access to the site
- Publicising the legal threats and associated correspondence on your listing.
- Taking legal action for threating behaviour against us
Fake positive reviews
If it becomes evident to us that a business has been posting fake reviews for their listing(s), we reserve the right to take any or all the following actions:
- Removing your ability to reply or review
- Removing your access from the site without refund (if applicable)
- Blocking future access to the site
- Publicising the legal threats and associated correspondence on your listing.
- Taking legal action for threating behaviour against us
Fake negative reviews
If you have evidence that a negative review is fake, please report it using the contact us form. Provide as much evidence as you can to support your claims. We take a zero-tolerance approach to competitors submitting negative reviews on other businesses. We reserve the right to take any or all of the following actions:
- Removing your ability to reply or review
- Removing your access from the site without refund (if applicable)
- Blocking future access to the site
- Publicising the legal threats and associated correspondence on your listing.
- Taking legal action for threating behaviour against us
Incentivised consumer reviews
Incentives should only be offered in exchange for reviews of your business (its products or services) if:
- Incentives are offered equally to consumers likely to be complementary and consumers likely to be critical, and positive and negative reviews are treated the same.
- The reviewer is expressly told that the incentive is available whether the review is positive or negative.
- The incentive is prominently disclosed to users who rely on affected reviews.
